"It was definitely a game of two halves. I thought we were rubbish in the first half to be perfectly honest with you! I could not wait to get in at half time, and get amongst them. We didn't do anything that we had been working on."
"They were first to every ball in the first half, but in the second half it was a bit of a role reversal really. We certainly had the better chances in the second half.
"We didn't play anything like we can do, and as I said we were glad to get in at half-time with no score. In the second half, obviously we got the goal early and from then we just grew in confidence.
"It's a tough league we're playing in, and we're playing against some tough teams. OK, so Everton are struggling at the minute, but we still have to come here and match them. In the second half, I felt we passed the ball better and created some decent chances.
"You have to defend well, and I don't think we defended well in the first half to be honest. We gave ourselves problems by not getting tight.
"Three points in this league are very hard fought. We've got ten points but we've still got an awful long way to go. We're pleased with our start, but there is a hell of along way to go yet, and I think we can get better as well.
"It was one of my hardest decisions in football to leave out Pollitt out. I felt sorry for 'Polly' because he has done nothing wrong. I don't why but I just had a gut feeling, I felt it was the right thing to do. John's [Filan] has been fantastic for us, and so has 'Polly', and I've got two great 'keepers."

"We shouldn’t be relying on decisions from referees to win or draw games. But if that decision [to disallow Wigan's goal for a foul] had been given, it would have given us the chance to go on and win the game.
"I thought we did okay in the first half. I thought we were a bit more like ourselves. We came into this game from a situation in the past couple of weeks in which we haven’t done as well as we would have liked.
"The players went about the game well, we created some chances, possibly had a shout for a penalty kick and I was quite pleased, even though I am not happy that we haven’t gone on and got the goals.
"It's not easy, but you have to keep going. It's been difficult before. We are going to continue to work in the way in which we think is right. The way we are working now got us to fourth in the table last season, seventh a couple of years before that. We know that we have to do better, we have to start pulling some results out of somewhere, hopefully it will be soon.
"The poor run of results continues. We can't fault the effort, maybe the quality at times, but not the effort. We've only been in front in one game this season and we managed to win it. We've lost three games 0-1 now - whereas last year we were winning them 1-0.
"Maybe that is the difference. I am certainly not bemoaning bad luck - that is not my style. I rely on good play and doing the right things often enough."
