"The first half was as poor as we've played for a long, long time. I tried to stress to the players that when we saw the team sheet, that they had rested a few players but that we couldn't relax because these players would be hungry and they would be fighting at least for a place on the bench for their big game on Tuesday.
"It was really sloppy and we didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck, we sat back as a result. They got into the game and we conceded a very silly goal. We were poor, very, very poor first half. We looked better in the second half, but we see this as two points dropped."
"For the first ten or fifteen minutes we didn't even get into their half, they set the tempo and they did very well. We were disappointed so a few things were said at half-time and we responded better after half-time. When we scored the goal I thought we might go on and win it, but we huffed and puffed and we really didn't have enough chances.
"It would be difficult to look more loose than we did in the first half. We were absolutely all over the place and all over the park. Nobody came in from the first half with any credit."
"There were two good crosses for the goals, one from Eaden and another from Teale, but they looked more hungry than us and you would have thought it was them trying to get in the Premiership and not us!"
"At half-time time, Watford looked like they were going to score again so we had to address that. There was no urgency and the crowd was quiet, it was almost like a testimonial game. We looked edgy today, we always looked as though we would concede on the break today.
"We aren't going to be fluid every week, but we certainly can get into people's faces. In the first half we took the attitude of being second in the league and people are saying nice things about us and were going to do this and that. I've told the players to not read newspapers and don't listen to what people tell them and just to get on with the game. Come the end of the season and if we've done well then we'll take all the plaudits then, but not before.
"I thought Flynn deserved a chance. He's come on from being a substitute and done exceptionally well. I felt sorry for him today because he's come into a team that's probably played the worst forty-five minutes of the season. He may look a scapegoat but it's not the case. It just seems that every time he comes into the team we play poor. The last time was when Rotherham came here and we played poorly then. It wasn't happening for him, but he wasn't the only one! In the past he's come on and changed the game.
"As a team performance it was as poor as we've played for a long, long time today."
