"They're a good side, full of quality players, but we showed great spirit, determination and desire to not lose the game."
"It was a poor goal, but I thought we started the game very, very well. We had some really good link up play but our final ball, or our final pass just wasn't there, it wasn't as good as maybe it should be.
"I've got to be honest and say I think that is as well as we've played."
"They're a top six side, they're a top six side, and full of international players, and to push them all the way is credit to us."
"Hopefully we can make Kavanagh think he's playing Middlesbrough every week!
"That was probably his best game for Wigan since he's been here, he was outstanding. He was snappy and tackling, passing the ball crisply. He played well, but he knows he's not the only good player here because there's competition for his place.
"There are people waiting to take other players places, but that can only be good for the club."

"As the game wore on we sat back and settled for a 1-0, then we got done at the back and had to hold on at the end. We didn't play as we normally do and we therefore put ourselves under pressure.
"It was a tough game and we knew it would be, they've had two home games and narrowly got beaten and should have had a point against Chelsea."
"But going a goal up and the way we dominated the first 20 minutes it was disappointing, we can do better and we know we can.
"That's four points in the week and a win in Europe. It's what we aim for and we got it but we go home disappointed.
"We've got to play better football than that but we've ground out a point and didn't get beaten and we've got to take confidence from that."
