The Milton Keynes club missed at penalty in the second half and put the Latics under lots of pressure at the end of the game.
Robinson was proud of his players and the way the Dons equipped themselves as a club. Speaking to the club's official website after the game he said: “Early-on we looked as though we couldn’t get to grips with the pace when they pressed us but I managed to get my message across to the team and I think they took that on board during the game. Then, in the second half, they took it to another level.
“Going to three at the back helped us get back into the game and we knew by doing that we could nick a goal and then revert back to our normal system and still be offensive with what we were trying to do.
“I’m just very, very happy with the way we played today. For a League 1 team to be in the Fourth Round draw for two consecutive seasons just shows you the tremendous grit and determination at this Club. I’m very proud of that fact."
As a result of the draw the game will have to take place again on Tuesday 14th January at Stadium MK, subject to television selection.
