Wolves had taken teh lead through Dave Edwards but went in at half time 2-1 down as the Latics fought back. A second half equaliser from Bakary Sako earned a point for the Black Country team.
Speak to the Wolverhampton Wanderers official website Jackett said: “We played very well and are disappointed with getting a draw.
“I thought we showed a lot of quality today and fantastic spirit and overall were the better side. There was a lot of good play and we were unlucky not to win.
“We took the game to Wigan in both halves - there were chances to win the game and we are frustrated we didn’t.
“But if you give poor goals away you give yourself a mountain to climb and we have now conceded eight in the last three games.
“They were disappointing goals and we will be looking at them because if we want to be successful we are going to have to improve on that.
“Realistically you have to concede zeros and ones on a consistent basis to earn points - you can’t really expect to get too many points when you are conceding as we have."
Wolves have started the season in good form following their promotion from League One last season.
