The Latics manager Paul Jewell was unhappy with Leeds United after they refused to put the game back to Wednesday.

Jewell said: "It's quite clearly an unfair advantage to Leeds - I don't care what anybody says. I don't blame Leeds in a way for taking that advantage, but I do blame the powers that be. It's up to them to say we play Wednesday.

"I would like to know if we were Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal whether we would be playing on Tuesday. I guess not."

And you have to fully support his view point. United are playing their tie with Burton Albion on today (Wednesday 18th).

It was always going to be the case that United v Burton would be shown on television, and so Leeds had to play their match on the Tuesday to attract Sky cameras.

I’m guessing that Tamworth manager Mark Cooper was equally disappointed with the Yorkshire club’s decision. His side went out to Stoke City on penalties and Cooper had been crying out for his club to have a chance at scooping some television money.

Instead that money fell to greedy Leeds United who are desperate for money after a decade of mismanagement and over-spending. Something Paul Jewell will never do as Wigan manager.

I’m guessing that Mr Jewell’s message to Leeds would go something like: "Enjoy your television money, I think you need it. I hope the extra time and penalties didn’t put too much strain on the old electric bill? We’re off to have a nice break before our next Premiership game. Enjoy the Championship, we’re off to the fourth round."

It was also doubtful that Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell watched the same game as everyone else.

He told lufc.co.uk: "Wigan had to counter wave after wave of attack and credit must got to our players. I’m just disappointed we couldn’t buy all those Leeds fans that watched at Elland Road and around the world a celebratory beer at the end."

Come on Blacky, be honest! As for the beers, will you be passing that bill onto sky aswell?

A final note, there is a 50% sale on Leeds merchandise at lufc.co.uk. Please, don’t all rush at once.
