Loyal fans let down by Wigan Athletic

Last updated : 06 January 2006 By Paul Farrington

Away season ticket holders committed themselves to follow the club on all of their away games throughout the season, and are only allowed to miss a maximum of three games.

In return for this commitment and loyalty, estimated to cost upto £1000 in total, the fans are given pathetic seats in comparison to other Wigan Athletic fans whom may have made just two or three away games throughout the course of the season.

St Andrews, and Birmingham City was the final straw for a good number of those fans who were disgusted at being stuck in the corner, while other Latics fans were given prime seats in the centre behind the goal.

From a personal point of view, Old Trafford was also a disappointment, with other Latics fans paying less money, and getting better seats.

Other away season ticket holders are particularly unhappy with the games at Everton, Aston Villa and Charlton Athletic.

The club has given an unsatisfactory response from the club regarding this matter. Wigan Athletic commented that the seats for Birmingham had to be sold from the corner outwards.

Are you and away season ticket holder who has had trouble with their seats at away games? Please get in touch. Email me.

The direction in which other Latics fans who purchased tickets later where seated. Away season ticket holders, who committed themselves before the season, had to make do with the corner.

A good view from Old Trafford for away season ticket holders who had to contend with a wall. Other Latics fans sat in the cheaper seats on the other side of the railings with arguably a better view.

The cheaper seats with a better view were above this concrete wall, again these were not given to the loyal away season ticket holders.
