With £7 million burning a hole in Rosler's back pocket a lot of lesser managerswould have targeted some short term gain and moved for 30 plus players coming towards the end f their career on lower fees (mentioning no names Owen Coyle).
Instead Rosler has targeted 22 year olds Forshaw from Brentford and Delort from FC Tours as he looks to build a youthful and capable team to push for promotion.
With players like Grant Holt and Marc Antoine Fortune cluttering up the wage bill and offering little to the first eleven it is reassuring to see moves for younger, talented, and potential players.
Forshaw was the League One player of the season last year and Delort managed an impressive 24 goals in 36 Ligue 2 games so both players have proven themselves at a good standard and are now ready to kick forward their careers.
At the time of writing none of the above moves have been agreed but clearly the intentions of our manager are pleasing for the club and are continuing to build on the work of Roberto Martinez and building for the future.
We don't have the biggest transfer budgets and we need to be creative and work hard in the transfer market if we are to push the club forward.
The signings of promising young players Forshaw and Delort are one way we can achieve this. With James Tavernier, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Oriol Reira already signed under this mould we're building for the longer term.
Factor in the fact that we are building an impressive training facility and academy it is reassuring to know that hopefully we can develop future players of the ilk of Callum McManaman and Lee Nicholls through ourvery own youth system.
Our club continues to evolve and move forward and hopefully this transfer window will be another iteration of that development.
Promotion to the Premier League and the money that such a promotion unlocks would be a big boost to the club's coffers, but in the present it is reassuring that those in power are not gambling with the future of our football club.
