The walk4joseph is supporting Josephs Goal

Joseph Kendrick is a four year old boy who is suffering from NKH, (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia), a very rare life-limiting genetic disorder that severely affects his development.

Joseph's Goal is a charity set up to increase awareness of NKH and to raise funds for research to find better treatments and eventually a cure. We are supporting Dr Johan Van Hove at the University of Colorado, who is the world leader in researching this condition. Because it is so rare and so little research has been done, literally every penny raised can and will make a difference.

On Saturday March 29th 2014, Wigan Athletic travel the short distance to Horwich to face Championship rivals and near neighbours Bolton Wanderers. On the morning of the 29th March, prior to the game, there will be a large number of people walking the six miles from the DW Stadium in Wigan to the Reebok Stadium in Horwich, to raise awareness of NKH and raise funds for the Josephs Goal Appeal.

This is the walk4joseph.

This event will be big, brash and fun, it will certainly raise awareness, hopefully helping Joseph and his family to achieve their monetary target, I want you to join me on the walk. Please register to participate in the walk4joseph, to do this simply email your details to walk4joseph@hotmail.co.uk you will receive a sponsor form, poster and details of the walk.

There is a justgiving page set up for our proceeds to be paid into: www.justgiving.com/walk4joseph , this links directly into the Joseph Goal Appeal and keeps a track of how much money the walk4joseph will make.

Please, please, please support this event and join us on the walk, whether you are a Latics fan, a Bolton fan or just willing to participate and raise some much needed funds and awareness for this worthy cause.

Register at walk4joseph@hotmail.co.uk

We will be meeting from 10 am on the morning of the 29th March at the front of the DW Stadium and then setting off at 10:30am prompt. Stop off point at New Springs Ex-Servicemen's Club, Cale Lane, for refreshments and hopefully arriving at the Reebok for approximately 1:30pm.

Of course many people will know Joseph as our mascot in the FA cup final, his story has touched the hearts of all the people that have been made aware of his condition, please show your support by participating in the walk.

Why resister for the walk4joseph?

We need to know the numbers that will be participating in the walk so we can arrange insurance, get the appropriate licences and most importantly order the correct number of pies fir the 'pitstop', you wouldn't want anyone to miss out on a free pie!
