Baines and Taylor play for England

The England Under-21 team slipped to defeat against Austria as Marc Janko scored a second-half brace. Carlton Cole scored England's goal, heading in a James Milner cross.

Gyorgy Garics hit the crossbar with a header for Austria on 36 minutes, while ten minutes after the restart Janko converted Zlatko Junuzovic's low cross.

With 14 minutes left Janko claimed his second with another close-range finish and Austria held on as keeper Ramazan Ozcan denied Michael Dawson late on.
