Baines has also collected England Under 21 international honours and has established himself as a firm favourite amongst the fans.
He told the club's official website: "It's amazing to think I've chalked up 100 first team starts in such a short period of time.
"I can still remember my first team debut as if it were yesterday. My first appearance was actually as a sub in a big cup match against West Brom. However, my first start was in the LDV Vans trophy against Notts County and it was a great experience.
"To be honest, I'm not really a player who's concerned about records or targets. I'm still in the early stages of my career and enjoy every game I play regardless of if it's my 100th start or 126th start.
"There's been some great highlights already, obviously getting promoted to the Premiership being the best of them, but the key is never to be happy with what you've achieved. At this club we always want more, always want to do better and I'm no different."
