Boselli has scored goals throughout his career and Martinez revelaed to the Wigan Evening Post that he cannot wait to get started for the Latics. He said: “Mauro got a knock in the early stages against Zaragoza, but he didn’t want to come off.
“That’s the type of character he is, and for him to play 90 minutes was a real plus for us.
“I have been really pleased with his footballing intelligence – the way he moves, the way he makes his runs – and he’ll get into a lot of good positions this season.
“It doesn’t worry me at all that he missed a couple of chances on Wednesday, because he is the best finisher I have seen for a long, long time. I am so excited about the future because I really feel we have got a future Argentinian regular on our hands.
“I just want Mauro to keep doing the things we know he can do. He is very generous off the ball, and his intelligence is second to none. I have absolutely no concerns whatsoever about Mauro scoring goals over here.”
