The 25 year old is out of contract in the summer and can leave the Tigers on a free transfer and the former Latics boss is now charged with achieving as much as he can for the player during the January transfer window.
Former Liverpool trainee Hobbs has been on loan with Nottingham Forest but Hull have recalled the defender in an attempt to sell him during the transfer window.
Speaking about the defender, Steve Bruce said: “I’m sure something will happen there. We have had a firm enquiry from Wigan concerning Hobbs - that’s on the agenda.
“There’s one or two others sniffing around, I’ve had one or two phone calls regarding Jack. We’ll obviously see what he wants to do and see what happens in the next few weeks with that.”
January should see a good opportunity for Uwe Rosler to stamp his own authority on the Latics team as he not only brings in his own new faces plus shifts some of the dead wood out.
