It is expected that both Mido and Hendry Thomas will join the club, whilst Chucho Benitez is being strongly linked.
News is somewhat unclear regarding Amr Zaki who has been the subject of much media coverage in recent weeks for all the wrong reasons.
However, Steve Bruce is hoping for a quiet summer as he looks to build on the strong foundations in place at the club.
He told the Wigan Evening Post: "I hope there is no need for a big turnaround but you can never tell.
"We have big decisions to make with the people we have on loan - Mido and Amr Zaki - and obviously there are players we want to bring in.
"It's easier to do business in the summer, I like to do mine quite early, although things can change when players report back for pre-season training.
"Sometimes you get a player who falls out with his club which creates an opportunity, or someone comes back out of condition and that creates a ripple. But I'd like to think I can get things done early.
"We do our homework well on players and try to make sure we bring in signings of the required standard to make us stronger."
