After Wigan's defeat to Blackpool yesterday and the dwindelling outside chances of the play-offs Arjan will not want to spend yet another season in the second division.

“The club has asked me to consider re-signing but I don't want to make my mind up yet. We haven't discussed figures or anything like that but the manager has told me he would like me to stay and that's great to know,” he said.
“At the start of the season I nearly went to Crystal Palace to join Steve Bruce but that fell through at the last minute. Now I genuinely don't know what I plan to do.
“If you start thinking about next season already then you aren't giving 100 per cent on the field. So I have said to my agent that it's better to wait until mid-April before looking at the situation and until that time keep it away from my mind.
“I don't regret coming here because I really enjoy it and my family are settled here. The only thing I do regret is that we are still in the second division.
“When I first signed for Wigan I knew the club had ambition and it still has but I have to admit I hoped it would have happened by now.
“After playing in front of packed stadiums in the first division and Premiership, you do miss the big crowds and that's the only real problem I have with playing for Wigan.”
