Crusat fit for Swindon fixture

The 28 year old Spaniard looked in some discomfort as he left the field against Sunderland with manager Roberto Martinez later revealing that Crusat was having difficulty breathing.

However after scans this week, the former Almeira player has been given the all clear to recommence training and could even feature on Saturday against Swindon Town.

“It was a really nasty challenge that Albert took, and we were concerned it was a cracked rib, or some kind of real structural problem with his back,” Martinez told the Evening Post.

“But the results from the scan have been very, very good, and we are hoping that with conservative treatment he could even feature on Saturday.

“I would never rule Albert out, because he is a strong character who always wants to play. It was a real shame he had to come off against Sunderland, because he was having a massive impact on the game."

Crusat was playing particularly well in the game and looked to be causing Sunderland plenty of problems with his pace, direct running, and quick passing and his performance has offered much optimism for the final months of the season.
