Wigan Athletic have been shortlisted for the Team of the Round award in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Gary Caldwell's men twice came from behind to eventually win 3-2 at Crewe Alexandra in the Northern Area second round. Two strikes from Jordy Hiwula and a screamer from Yanic Wildschut secured the victory.

Wigan have been nominated alongside Sheffield United and Oxford United. The Blades defeated Notts County 5-1 at home, whereas Oxford took the bragging rights as they beat their fierce rivals Swindon Town 2-0.

The winner receives a trophy and a supply of Johnstone's Paint that can be used for a club project.

The Latics have also been given their number for Monday's Emirates FA Cup first round draw.

The 2013 winners will be ball number 45 in the draw, which will take place at approximately 7:00pm Monday night live on BBC 2.

The last time Wigan entered the competition at this stage was during the 2002/03 campaign. Scott Green scored the winner as Latics prevailed 1-0 away to Hereford in November 2002.
