Amongst them is Nouha Dicko, presently on loan with Blackpool. The young French forward reported back to the Latics last week for a routine fitness check up where it was discovered he had an irregular heart beat.
Subsequent further checks have been carried out and everything appears to be above board. So much so that the yonugster played a pivotal role in Blackpool's game with Leeds United last night.
Dicko set up Angel Martinez's winner for the Seasiders and manager Ian Holloway revealed the extent of Dicko's heart scare.
“I am delighted for Nouha because he has looked sharp in training for a while now," Hollway told the Blackpool Gazette.
“They found something in a heart check at Wigan and we lost him for a week because of that, but luckily he is OK and it was exciting to see him play.
“I picked the team deliberately because I wanted to use Nouha’s legs and his pace towards the end … and it really worked.
“He is so exciting when he gets going. We have to realise that and use it more. Matt Gilks could have looked long the minute he caught the ball because Nouha will get on the end of those. We have to learn that and we will."
Dicko is on loan with Blackpool until the end of the season and has made twelve apperances for the Seasiders (with nine as a subsitute) scoring two goals.
