Edman makes return

Manager Steve Bruce was there to see the left-back in his first taste of football since injuring his cruciate ligament at Blackburn back in March.

Edman declared his happyness at playing again and his manager Bruce also told the official website of his excitement to have Edman nearing full fitness.

Richard Kingson also made his debut for Wigan and looked assured in goal. The Latics fell behind to Hary Martin's goal but Ryan Taylor levelled from the penalty spot.

First year scholar Jonathan Breeze then won the game; The reserves have won three of their opening five fixtures.
