The Duke was delighted to recieve the award, and is the first ever Latics player to get such an award, and it comes in our first season at this level.
The striker said: "I'm really happy to receive this award and it's great to be recognised in such a way. Things have been going well for me lately and now I'm amongst the goals it's important that I keep this run going. I'm pleased with the way I have adapted to life in Division One but I do not want to settle for where we are now.
"I think I'd be disappointed if I don't pass the 20 goal mark having already got 16 in total so far, and between now and the end of the season I will be working as hard as I can to get my final tally as high is as possible.
"The rest of the lads deserve a lot of credit for this award too as they all play their part in creating chances for our strikers and obviously without their help I would not have been able to score the goals that I have."
