Former Villa Defender Linked

The 32-year-old Turkish international defender, famous for his spat with David Beckham in the England v Turkey match in Istanbul in 2003, has been told that he no longer has a future at his Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds and according to the Times newspaper Wigan are monitoring the situation.

Alpay has been with the JJ-League outfit for just 11 months but in his last seven matches for the Diamonds he has been cautioned six times and sent off three times!
