Jarrett, who has been offered a three year deal, has attracted interest from relegated Norwich City and he may well chose to move there.
The former Bury man has made no secret that he dislikes the new wage structure in place at the JJB and has intructed his agent to gauge interest from other clubs.
However, manager Paul Jewell knows full well that he has offered Jarrett a fair deal for his level of ability and experience. He told the club's official website: "We have offered Jason a three year deal but of course he's entitled to talk to whoever he wants and that's what he's doing.
"I have the up most respect for him both as a person and a footballer and we will wish him well whatever decision he makes."
Whilst the midfielder has been quoted as saying: "My preferred option was to stay, but I'm not happy with the deal."

Would Jarrett be missed by the Latics? Is he being greedy looking for a new club? What would you do if you were Paul Jewell?
