He told the club's official site: "It was a great occasion to be involved in and a great honour to represent England again. When I got the call up last week I was buzzing and to play against Germany in Germany is a massive thing for me.
"I didn't feature at all in the Wales game in Wrexham but the team played well and won. When the manager told me I'd be involved against Germany I couldn't wait to get out there.
"It was a really physical game and the pace was frantic. The German lads are very strong and are one of the best teams in Europe at Under 21 level. I thought we did well not only to match them but also take the game to them and cause them problems.
"We had the chances to win it and I think we deserved better than a point. Having said that, getting a draw in their back yard is no disgrace and it gives us something to build on.
"I've not picked up any injuries, which will please Paul Jewell, and I'm returning to Wigan in good shape. I've trained every day that I've been away with England, so I won't have lost any match sharpness.
"It's a massive game for us on Saturday, so I can't wait to get back with the Wigan lads and prepare to face West Brom."

The former Tranmere player said: "It's been a brilliant week for me and something I'll remember for a while. The last few months have been like a whirlwind and the England call up was the icing on the cake.
"I found out I was in the squad on the night before we played Sunderland. That game was my first ever start in the Premiership and we won, so it was a pretty special 24 hours.
"I'm learning so much at the moment and the England experience had just added to that. Leighton (Baines) told me that just being in the squad is a special experience and he wasn't wrong.
"Things like this make you hungry to achieve more and keep pushing yourself. I don't want this to be my last call up and I'll be working hard to make sure I stay in contention."
Well done lads!
