Matt Jackson
Jackson signed a one year deal at the end of last term despite rumoured interest from Q.P.R. and it looks as though he will do the same again this time round.

Manager Paul Jewell said: "I'm pleased to say that we have offered Matt Jackson a one year extension to his contract and that he looks like he is going to sign. 'Jacko' has been brilliant for us and is a credit to himself and I feel he deserves to get another year beyond this one. I don't mean this in a bad way, but he has probably surprised me with how well he has done and therefore I have no worries about extending his deal.

"He offers us plenty on and off the field and the way he plays when he comes back into the side after injury or whatever is exceptional. He comes back in after a lay off and you'd hardly know he's been away and that is just fantastic. He is a great influence to the young players around him too and I'm pleased that he looks set to sign this one year extension because he really deserves it and he is a really important player for us.
