Flinders, just 19 years of age, has already had a trial with Chelsea this term, and has attracted the interest of other Premiership clubs. He broke through into the Barnsley first team last term playing eight games, while he has managed eleven games so far this term.
Standing at six foot four and weighing fourteen stone, Flinders certainly has the physique to make a top goalkeeper.
Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie told the club's website: "Scott will go and train with Wigan until Thursday. It is the same arrangement as when he went down to train with Chelsea earlier this season and now Wigan will have a have a closer at him this week."
