Wigan Athletic have confirmed that Emyr Huws has joined Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan deal, with striker Jordy Hiwula coming the other way.
England under 19 international striker Hiwula joined Huddersfield after coming through the ranks at Manchester City, much like the Welsh international Huws.
Latics' boss Gary Caldwell has made no secret he wanted a new striker, after Shaquile Coulthirst returned to Tottenham Hotspur for treatment on an injury.
As well as this, centre-forward Billy McKay looks set to leave the DW Stadium; after Wigan reportedly accepted a £200,000 bid from Dundee United.
Wigan have the option to recall Huws from Yorkshire in January, however, it looks unlikely that they will perform such an action.
Caldwell labelled the 21-year old as 'disrespectful' in a recent interview with the Wigan Evening Post:
"As regards to Emyr, he told me clearly he did not want to stay at the club in League One," admitted Caldwell.
He also added: "I feel that is disrespectful to his teammates, myself, the chairman and the supporters."
"He is a quality player but the bottom line is that we need 100 per cent commitment and every single member of the squad pulling in the same direction," insisted the Scotsman.
