With Victor Moses said to be continuing to interest Chelsea, and a £10 million total transfer fee being muted, Anichebe and Myiachi are being lined up to replace the talented Nigerian winger.
The move has gone a little quiet over recent days but Chelsea are said to still be interested and are understanding the value of Moses attached by Latics chairman Dave Whelan.
Martinez meanwhile is not waiting and has lined up a loan move for Arsenal's exciting winger Ryo Miyaichi regardless of Moses' future.
Miyaichi spent much of last season on loan with Bolton and particularly impressed Martinez during his substitute appearance agains the Latics at the Reebok Stadium.
Anichebe meanwhile is said to be a target to add strength and power to the Latics front line and to offer a physical support to Franco Di Santo and Mauro Boselli.
Everton are believed to be happy to offload the striker for a fee in the region of £1 million.
Nothing would please Martinez and the Latics support more than the longer term commitment of Victor Moses for the season, but it would appear that contingency plans have been made.
With Shaun Maloney, Jordi Gomez, Albert Crusat, aswell as the emerging Callum McManaman and Nouha Dicko the Latics are now looking strong on the wings and well prepared for the season ahead.
