Latics want Croft perminantely

Croft impressed Jewell despite not having his full match fitness, and this had made PJ look forward to seeing Croft at his full potential.

Jewell said: "Gary Croft will only get better and better once he is fit.

"At the moment, though, he needs to play some reserve games to build up his fitness because he hasn't played for a while. He just needs games."

A deal could also be more likely to take place after George Burley told him that he has no future at Portman Road, all this after he commented that all Croft needs is fitness before he can start to push for his place in the Ipswich squad again.

If Jewell wants Croft to join the squad he will have to act fast because there will be no shortage of demand for the full-back, with a number of first division clubs showing interest.

It will be more than likely however that if Croft signs then Green, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could be on his way out of the club. This will come with no saddess to many Latics fans who strongly feel that Green is taking the mick out of the Latics.
