Roberto Martinez has highlighted Rodallega for special attention ahead of the 17 game season run in. He believes the Columbian will have a very important part to play if the Latics are to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.
“Hugo looks refreshed at the moment,” Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post, “he had a really tough start to the season because he did not have a proper break. Then he had a little bit of an injury and we missed him for a little bit.
“It is only in the last three weeks that he has been himself and enjoying his football.
“At his best, he is a big asset for this club. He is capable of opening things for us. We are really pleased with the level he has shown in the last three games.”
Martinez has revealed that he will not be looking to cash in on Rodallega during the January transfer window despite the strikers lack of enthusiasm with regards to signing a new contract with the club.
