Wigan Athletic centre-forward Billy McKay has joined Dundee United on a season-long loan.
The Northern Ireland international was originally moving to Tannadice on a permanent deal, after the two clubs agreed a fee of £200,000.
However, the 26-year old failed to agree a severance agreement with the Latics, meaning he couldn't terminate his current long-term contract at the DW Stadium.
McKay joined Wigan from Inverness Caledonian Thistle for £150,000 back in the January transfer window; and now he has returned to the Scottish Premier League after failing to score a competitive goal for Gary Caldwell's side.
He will spend this campaign at Dundee United before his situation is monitored in the summer.
