Wigan Athletic confirmed yesterday that they would be signing Craig Morgan on a free transfer.
The 29-year old is out of contract at Rotherham United and has rejected Wigan's local rivals Bolton Wanderers in order to join the Latics on a two-year deal.
The defender becomes Latics' third summer signing, following the other free captures of midfielder David Perkins and goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell.
All three players will join up with the squad on July 1st.
On the other hand, Scott Carson has joined championship side Derby County for an undisclosed fee.
Carson had one-year remaining on his contract at the DW Stadium, but was one of the club's highest earners last campaign.
