The 32 year old Latics striker hasn't had the chance to watch much of Kazan in action as his three daughters and Peppa Pig have taken up most of his time.
"With three kids, the only thing I watch is Wigan games and then I go home and watch Peppa Pig!," said Holt, "I am looking forward to this. I came here for challenges and this is certainly one I came to get involved in. I just can't wait to get out there."
The game will be Holt's first in Europe for the Latics after a knee injury ruled him out of action for a month earlier this season.
