Negotiations are on going and Pollitt is rumoured to be very unhappy with the initial offer that was put in front of him.
He is currently paid around £2,000 a week at Rotherham and the Latics are believed to have offered the same, whilst the 33 year old is holding out for £3,000 a week.
Rotherham boss Mick Harford said: “Hopefully, it will get sorted out very soon.
“They [Wigan] offered a contract and we have agreed a figure and it is now just a matter of Mike going to Wigan and thrashing a deal out.
“He has been fantastic to this club. He has a great attitude and he deserves his opportunity to go and play in the Premier League. He is a very good goalkeeper.”
We know Jewell is shrewd but this could well be the cream of the crop.
