The nineteen year old has been out of action for a few weeks now and Uwe Rosler is clearing missing his top scorer.
He told the Wigan Evening Post: "Obviously up front we need our top scorer, Nick Powell, we miss him.
"For a nineteen year old he has been tremedous for us this season. When I came I saw that the kidd has played a lot of football and obviously now everybody asks for a rest and that is why he gets a rest in terms of he has a niggle here and a niggle there."
Powell is not expected to return for the weekend's trip to face Cardiff in the FA Cup, but the news is that he is closing in on a return to finess for the play off push over the final weeks of the season.
