It is too late now but the FA have thankfully closed the door after the horse has bolted by overturning the suspension that would have faced Sammon for the red card.
Speaking about the successful appeal, Latics boss Roberto Martinez said: “We thank the panel for their decision, which is the correct one. We now need to draw a line under the matter and move on. I am delighted to have Conor available for the next three matches.”
“It would have been really unfair for him to share the frustrating feeling that he had on Monday for another three games after doing nothing wrong.”
Sammon is expected to be in the lineup for the game with Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
