The initial one month loan deal has finished but the former Spurs player, now in charge at Sixfields - with for Latics' boss John Deehan as Director of football - has told the club's website of his wish to extend the deal.
He said: "We will be asking Paul Jewell at Wigan if we can keep Magno Vieira. His month on loan has now expired but we want to extend that and keep him if we can. He is really enjoying his time here and we hope that can continue."
Vieira made his debut for the Cobblers as a 63 minute substitute in their 2-1 win over York City, one month ago tomorrow.
In total he has made 4 appearences for Northampton, one as substitute, scoring two goals.
